Rihanna’s family fear star is depressed

The family of pop superstar Rihanna have voiced their concerns over the star’s hard partying ways and overtly sexual image, even going so far as to say they think that she may be suffering from depression. The news comes just a few days after the singer posted a picture on popular image sharing website Instagram which showed her chopping up a suspicious white substance while taking in performances at Californian music festival, Coachella.

Rihanna’s father Donald Fenty has spoken to the press to express his worries for his eldest child, pleading with her to return home to Barbados even claiming that he hopes she doesn’t end up the same way as Whitney Houston, who passed away earlier this year after a long history of substance abuse problems. Keen to defend his sister, the star’s younger brother Rorrey was quick to nix the depression rumours in the bud saying, “She’s exhausted and sometimes works 13 hours a day. She started partying at 14 years old, going to clubs and drinking. It’s the Caribbean island life. Everyone just has fun. Ri loves to party and I’m the same. But if she looks depressed it’s because of how hard she’s been working and she needs to come home.”
