Forget about the year of the snake, let’s just call it the year of the woman as the fairer sex straight dominated Forbes’ annual Most Powerful Celebrities list.
Beating out strong competition to nab the number one spot was none other than media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who returned to the top of the hill after being MIA for the last two years. The cancellation of her talk show as well as a rocky start for her OWN Network may have contributed to the businesswoman being shunted into second place, but with the growing popularity of new original planning like Oprah’s Next Chapter, make no mistake about it: she’s baaack!
Hot on Winfrey’s heels were pop megastar Lady Gaga who was named the second most powerful celebrity, and the grown woman herself Beyonce who came in at number four. Successful females such as Taylor Swift, Madonna and Ellen Degeneres rounded out the top ten. Check out who else made the list here.
