Bad Girl Riri & DreamWorks have box office success.

Disney Pixar’s latest venture ‘Home’, released on Friday 27th March is already set to be a hit. In its opening weekend the film shot straight to the top of the US box office and so it would seem that the RnB princess and Disney’s DreamWorks make quite the dream team.

The film’s human protagonist is Gratuity ‘Tip’ Tucci, voiced by singer Rihanna, while Big Bang theory’s Jim Parsons voices lead alien ‘Oh’. Together the pair set of on a mission that soon turns into an adventure, fuelled by the love hate relationship between the two. The film grossed a whopping $54 million dollars (24 million of which was made internationally). All of this success comes after mixed reviews from film critics, but it would seem that the public opinion is not so divided. In the shadows of Home’s success is how it managed to surpass Kevin Heart and Will Farrell’s ‘Get Hard’ in the box office. This being said, part of Home’s charm is its hilarity, spontaneity and familiarity – with a star-studded cast lending their voices to the animations. So be sure to take your young ones to catch the film while it’s still in cinemas. (All the more excuse for you to see it!)
