The Mobo Awards 2015

The annual MOBO Awards celebrates and showcases the best in British and international urban music talent. Founded by Kanya King MBE in 1996, it is over its twenty year reign as the biggest celebration of urban music.

There were a lot of amazing acts up for nomination, such as; Little Simz, Lianne La Havas, Tinie Tempah and Kwabs, making the lead up extremely intense. But nonetheless I am very happy with the winners, to name a few, Skepta received Best Song for  ‘Shutdown’ which never gets old, ‘Best RnB/Soul Act’ went to ‘Say Nada’ Shakka, ‘Best Female Act’ went to the lovely Ella Eyre and lastly Krept and Konan lead with a whopping four nominations and accepted two wins for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Best Hip-Hop Act’.

My favourite twitter craze of the night was when London MC Stormzy received a much deserved and highly ancticipated double win, owning the title of Mobo’s ‘Best Male Act’ and ‘Best Grime Act’. I felt the screams of excitement through the screen from all the caps and exclamation marks next to Stormzy’s @ on twitter, it seemed like deep down everyone knew he was going to win and wouldn’t want it any other way.

The full list of winners is on the official Mobo’s website here:
