Lenny Henry shut down twitter with his amazing ‘Paving the Way Award’ acceptance speech as he name checked an incredibly long list, surprising how he had the brain capacity to remember them all, including Stormzy, the BBC, his family, and “that bloke from the Halifax ad”, though it was hilarious it was brilliant! Rita Ora looked like she was having a great time whipping her high ponytail around the stage, as that seemed to be her only dance move, luckily Section Boyz spiced up the show. It was clear that Rita was definitely upstaged by FKA Twigs’ fierce performance, though when she took off her trench coat and revealed her sexy lace up leotard, I could only imagine boyfriend Robert Patterson’s face.
Well, there was no removing of clothes for the young lady Lianne La Havas, as she let the music do the talking, serenading the stage with a beautiful and angelic performance of ‘Unstobbable’.
Both Stormzy and Krept and Konan walked on stage with a swarm of people following behind them to accept their award, seemingly family and friends, though it’s clear that the personal moment just wouldn’t be the same without the people who helped made it all happen.
