If you’re struggling to find the perfect way to keep your teenager occupied during the holidays, the National Citizen Service (NCS) has the best solution. A programme in your local area will give your teenager an experience of a lifetime this summer, keeping them entertained for over three weeks for just £50 (with bursaries available).
NCS has spaces for thousands of 16/17 year olds to spend three-four weeks enjoying a range of outward bound activities, (including rock climbing, kayaking and orienteering), overnight stays at university accommodation and learning valuable skills for the future such as cooking and finance, all whilst meeting new friends.
The programme was rolled out in 2011 and to date has helped thousands of young people develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and much more.
The group will also create a campaign, be it fundraising or awareness raising, around an issue they all want to tackle. The past years have seen inspired events which have included support from local football teams to local MPs – this opportunity allows young people to realise the changes and impacts they can create.
