Forbes has named music legend Michael Jackson the world’s highest-earning dead celebrity. The ‘Thriller’ star topped the list, by earning $275million since his death in June 2009, beating Elvis Presley and John Lennon.
Forbes said: “Jackson’s posthumous earnings have been bolstered by shrewd negotiations by his estate, including a merchandising deal and the rights to his name and likeness for the Sony film This Is It, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.”
This comes as no surprise as he was loved and cherished by many. While Jackson hit the no.1 spot Jimi Hendrix came in at the number eleven spot, just missing entry into the top ten.
