Congratulations are in order for Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade as they announce the birth of their first child together.
The actress took to Instagram on Thursday (8th November) to share the exciting news, alongside photos of her and her husband embracing their daughter, quoting lyrics from Bill Withers’ ‘Lovely Day’ in the caption.

‘We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days,’ Gabrielle wrote. ‘Welcome to the party sweet girl!’
In her 2017 autobiography, ‘We’re Going to Need More Wine’, the Being Mary Jane star opened up about her fertility struggles, and how many times the couple had previously tried to get pregnant: ‘I have had eight or nine miscarriages… For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant – I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.’ In her caption she also revealed that her baby girl – who’s yet to be named – was born via surrogate.
NBA star Dwyane Wade also has three children from previous relationships, as well as a nephew who lives with the family.
