This May (1st – 9th) jazz fans and music lovers the world over are heading to the Legendary Caribbean island of Saint Lucia to see award-winning artists, Corinne Bailey Rae, perform against a stunning backdrop of lush mountains, golden sand and sparkling blue waters while also experiencing the vibe and culture of the island.
Multi-award winning artist Corinne Bailey Rae will take to the stage on Saturday 8th May where the soulful singer will perform tracks from her new critically acclaimed album, The Sea, along with world wide hits from her phenomenally successful debut album which sold more than 4 million copies worldwide.
But this year’s sterling line-up doesn’t end there – over the nine days festival goers will see performances from some the world’s leading artists including Neyo, Jean-Luc Ponty, Laura Izibor, Earl Klugh, Buena Vista Social Club, , Men of Soul featuring Jeffrey Osborne, Freddie Jackson, Phil Perry and Howard Hewett, Steel Pulse, Maxi Priest, Shaggy, Teddyson John, Claudia Edward, Quito & The Edge, Allison Marquis, Monty Maxwell, Harvey Millar , Carl Gustave and festival veteran, Saint Lucia’s very own Boo Hinkson.
Saint Lucia’s Minister of Tourism, Senator Allen Chastanet, who is one of the founders of Saint Lucia Jazz, says that festival patrons can look forward to truly memorable performances this year. “The 2010 line-up isn’t just a group of artists we put together for a show. We are very strategic and targeted this year because we want to ensure we appeal to a wider cross section of the visiting public.”
Saint Lucia Jazz, a premier music festival in the Caribbean region, is in the top five around the world. The Festival, which has attracted some of the biggest names in the music industry, marks its 19th anniversary this year.
