Setting your AUDACIOUS career or personal goals is one thing, but managing to stay positive, motivated and driven towards them every day is another. What can you do to ensure that you stay on track???
Committing to your goals can be hard for anyone, especially if you are an award winning, entrepreneur, radio host, motivational speaker, mentor and a mother of three! Meet Jenni Steele, a great friend of mine and someone who sets extremely AUDACIOUS goals for herself. I have witnessed her business and work ethic develop tremendously over the last few months and can only marvel at how she manages to keep all the plates spinning. I caught up with Jenni to find out exactly how she maintains her busy lifestyle and reveal some of the strategies that she uses to re-energize.
1) Don’t be too hard on yourself; it’s easy to feel like you are just not doing enough. Make a list / scrap book of all of your accomplishments (pictures, articles, statements,) including anything you are proud of and adding material as you go along. By doing this you are COUNTING YOUR BLESSINGS. Sometimes we forget how far we have come (the distance travelled), but once we remember, this instantly RE-ENERGIZES us!
2) Self Talk: that’s right, speak to yourself. It’s very important to be able to control your inner dialogue and replace all negative conversations with positive ones which are pregnant with aspirational affirmations. Ask yourself some simple questions such as ‘why do I feel like this?’, ‘what can I do to make myself feel better right now?’, and bless these questions with HONEST answers; if you lie to yourself who is going to believe in you? Quite often negative feelings are generated because there is something we have neglected or need to do. Once we have identified this, we can execute an ACTION and move on.
3) MUSIC! For Jenni anything vibrant and uplifting usually does the trick, this serves by sending positive vibes to her spirit and distracting her mind from thinking anything negative and encouraging her positive inner dialogue.
4) Plan time for YOU. Yes it’s all good working all the hours that God sends, but sooner or later you will wear yourself out. You know what they say; prevention is better than cure right!? So plan social events, pamper days or more importantly quality time alone to gather your thoughts in a comfortable setting of your choice.
5) Regulate who you communicate with! It’s very rare that you can completely switch off your contact from the outside world these days, however it’s imperative to try and only engage with people with high energy frequencies, at least until you are feeling RE-ENERGIZED yourself, or this will only result in your spirits declining even further.
