Controversial popstar Rihanna is in the news once again this week only this time, for reasons decidedly less scandalous. The star –who ironically has become pretty infamous for not wearing a great deal of clothing, will team up with Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts in an attempt to find Britain’s next sartorial superstar.
The show, which is set to air on the UK’s Sky Living later on this year in the Summer will see contestants proving themselves in a series of challenges which will include creating outfits for musicians and celebrities –reflecting the increasing influence of pop culture on the fashion industry. Sky issued the following statement as regards Rihanna’s involvement in the show, “With her world-class reputation and passion for style, Rihanna is perfectly placed to find an aspiring designer worthy of the chance to break into the hugely competitive world of fashion.”
The We Found Love singer is determined not be a sleeping partner as regards preparations for the show and will be adding casting, editing and production duties to her already jam-packed schedule. Girls Aloud singer and fashion plate Nicola Roberts will also be involved in the show, aiding Rihanna in her search. The Bajan popstar is clearly excited for her upcoming role on the show and even stipulated that one of the challenges will be to create a stage outfit for her. On her role in the show she said: “I’ve always had a great love of fashion. It’s a constant source of inspiration in my life.”
