American TV channel, Lifetime network has confirmed the news that has made us all a little more than uncomfortable. The family of the late Whitney Houston are set to star in their own warts-n-all reality show.
At least 10 episodes of the project have been requested and are set to hit screens in the US later on this year. The show will star a sizeable chunk of the Houston clan including, the late singer’s mother Cissy, her sister-in-law Pat, her brother Gary, her former manager Rayah and last but not least her daughter Bobbi Kristina. Houston passed away earlier this year and many have criticised the family for what they claim is ‘cashing in’ on the legendary diva’s legacy.
Rob Sharenow, Executive VP of programming with Lifetime Networks, who will produce the show which is going under the working title of : The Houston Family Chronicles, is promoting the show with the tagline “the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love and grow”.
Needless to say, it’s inevitable that the Whitney Houston family reality show is set to stir up a lot of controversy.
