At just 20 years old, Heather Watson has been ranked the number one British female Tennis player, after securing a doubles victory at the Bank of West Classic in Stanford, Connecticut earlier this week. Her win made her the 71st best player in the world according to the Women’s Tennis Association, and ranks her above three other British players in the top 100.
Watson moved to Florida aged 12 to perfect her craft and has already scored gold in the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games. As her winning streak continues, we hope the Guernsey born athlete can bring home a gold or two for Team GB in the London 2012 Olympics!
