Last night saw all the biggest names in music get their gladrags on and strut down the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards 2012.
One such name was Nicki Minaj who is well known for her outrageous outfits and stage costumes, so suffice to say the world and the crowd in attendance couldn’t wait to see what crazy, colour-filled creation the Pink Friday rapper would be wearing.
Certainly not one for subtlety, Nicki did not disappoint and confidently worked the VMA’s red carpet in a bold, bejewelled, lace ensemble designed for her by none other than Donatella Versace which did all it could to accentuate the singer’s much-discussed curves. She teamed her attention grabbing jumpsuit with fishnets, one of her trademark voluminous, multi-coloured blown-out wigs and a super cool driver’s cap. Minaj’s sky high rhinestone heels helped set off the creation perfectly.
The night would only get better and better for the rapper as she took to the stage to perform with Alicia Keys and US gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas before nabbing her very own Moonman in the Best Female category.
