To pay tribute to the late R’n’B singer Aaliyah, her mother and brother (Diane & Rashad Haughton) have collaborated in order to create a perfume in memory of her, 14 years after her passing.
The perfume named ‘Aaliyah By Xyrena’ was inspired by a range of fragrances that Aaliyah regularly wore forming together a new and perfect formula. The scent has a mix of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, jasmine, black pepper, violet, leather, mint, lavender and mandarin.
In an interview with MTV, Xyrena CEO Killian Wells said: “They appreciated that we wanted to create a fragrance that was really about Aaliyah, not just a generic scent with her name on the bottle.”
‘Aaliyah By Xyrena’ was carefully thought out by her family, such as the perfume’s hue of black which was Aaliyah’s favourite colour and the fact the fragrance is also for men which symbolises her sexy tomboy trademark.
Five percent of the fragrance sales are set to be donated to The Aaliyah Memorial Fund.
