Having been poached by Simon Cowell to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, ex Strictly Come Dancing Judge and singer Alesha Dixon is experiencing first hand what it’s really like to work with the music mogul. Having disagreed on a few acts during the live auditions thus far, Cowell offended Dixon by telling a young female solo singer to join a girl band because, “Most girls who haven’t got good voices end up in girlbands.” His comments were clearly aimed at Alesha –once one third of UK urban trio Mis-teeq. The exchange comes after Cowell also put down the brunette beauty at the recent Birmingham auditions remarking, “who are you anyway?”
We’re sure Cowell is just flexing his legendarily massive ego but thankfully Dixon has had support from fellow new judge David Walliams who suggested to Cowell that he is “so mean to Alesha” that the new judges felt “left out.” Alesha who stated that she left the safety net of Strictly to take on a “new challenge” and “do something different,” though many believe it was actually in the hope that her career would follow the same dizzy heights of Cheryl Cole, whose fame escalated as a result of her stint on Cowell’s other show the X Factor.
How Dixon handles Cowell’s behaviour during BGT will be one to watch over the next few weeks.
