Former star of The Bill, Aml Ameen is hitting the big time in LA, starring alongside Kathy Bates in new series Harry’s Law and upcoming war drama Red Tails with Terrence Howard and Bryan Cranston. Recently launching his own production company AmeenDream Entertainment that makes TV series and Films. He talks to Pride about his financial life.
He came from a pretty middle class family who had to deal with having money one minute then hardly anything the next, but this made him actively learn how to manage money.
He had school fees to pay, so the money had to be managed properly. He got small jobs like a paper round but he always had the tax system in his head, and would tax himself and pretend he didn’t get that money in order to save it.
However he likes to indulge, and when he does it’s to buy DVD’s. The most expensive thing he has ever bought was a watch for his mother (cue awws) and a Mercedes, which he left behind when he moved to LA.
He has ensured that he has income for the future, with his production company, and has several short films in the pipeline. “Now I’ve developed that attitude, the best places to spend money are where you can make it.”
