When you think of politics and music you wouldn’t normally put them in the same setting. However things changed last night when the first African-American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Soul legend Aretha Franklin joined each other on stage. The two were performing at a charity event for for children to take music lessons. It all happened as Philadelphia’s Mann Music Center for Performing Arts. Rice played part of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.20 in D minor while Franklin belted out out some of her greatest hits like ‘Respect’ and ‘Chain Of Fools’. The event raised more than £370,000 to help children from low-income families to attend classes and concerts.
