The last ever recording of the late Whitney Houston to be released was leaked online yesterday by gossip website TMZ.
The disco-inspired track, which features former American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, is called “Celebrate” and started circulating online just this past Monday. The song was recorded for the upcoming film, Sparkle, just four days before the late singer died by accidentally drowning in a bath in February. The song’s producer, Harvey Mason Jr, told BET: “We ended the session dancing around the control room while she said ‘Turn it up! Turn it up!’ She was so fun-loving!”
The news of the release follows hot on the heels of Jordin Spark’s highly emotional perfomance last week at the Billboard Awards. She even brought Houston’s daughter Bobbi-Kristina to tears with a heart-warming rendition of Houston’s unforgettable hit “I Will Always Love You”. Sparkle –the remake of the 1976 classic –tells the story of three sisters who became Motown stars. Whitney Houston played the mother of Sparks in the film. Also starring “Forget You” singer Cee-Lo Green, Sparkle is to be released in the US in August and in the UK in October.
