We caught up with Rochelle Wiseman, one fifth of uber glam girl group The Saturdays to have quick chat about the group’s new single ’30 Days’ and to get tips on how to look ab fab this Summer!
Hi Rochelle! Tell us a little bit about The Saturday’s new single ’30 Days’
It’s a real, up-tempo, dance track and it’s got a great vibe to it. Underneath it all though there’s that sentiment of being a little sad about missing someone but counting down the days to see them. It’s definitely a Summer, throw-your-hands-in-the-air kind of song. It’s what The Saturday’s do best!
Speaking of getting Summer ready, you always look great. What’s your secret?
Aww thank you! Erm… there really isn’t a secret. I eat well, I try to eats lots of fruit and vegetables. With the group I dance a lot so I get exercise from doing that. I just try to be healthy. That’s all you can do really. That being said I can’t resist chocolate éclairs –not the sweets but the actual cakes. They do them in packs of 4 and I have to say I can get through them all!
What body part do you feel most confident or least confident about?
I’m good about my top half actually but less confident about my legs. To make myself more confident I wear things that I feel comfy in and that flatter me.
Which celebrity has the ultimate beach body?
I love Jessica Alba! She’s got a lovely body. She’s curvy but it’s just the right amount and she’s still toned and healthy.
When it comes to beach attire are you two piece or all-in-one type of girl?
Oh I’m definitely a two-piece girl. I love a good bikini.
And when it comes to the guys what do you prefer? Are you a secret speedo-fetishist?
Oh my gosh, no! Swimming shorts all the way. No Speedos or neon Borat-style mankinis. Just no!
Ok, let’s talk fashion. Which trends will you be rocking this Summer?
I’m such a massive girly girl so I’m loving the whole florals and pastels trend. I love shorts too, so they’ll be one of my Summer staples.
On the beach: make-up or no make-up?
None at all. I can’t imagine wearing it on the beach. It just looks and feels horrible. I don’t even care if the paps are about! You’re on holiday so who cares! I just thrown on a pair of big shades and rock it.
Any tips for protecting your hair and skin on holiday?
I love hair treatments and I always make sure to have a good moisturising treatment. With my skin, I’m all about protection so I’m good about wearing lots of sunscreen.
What’s been your best beach holiday ever?
Me and Marvin went to the Maldives over Christmas just after boxing day and spent New Year’s there. Literally it has the mot amazingly, beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen in my life.
What’s your beach tipple of choice?
It depends on where I am to be honest but I go to Portugal a lot so I do love a bit of Sangria. I’m a cocktail kind of girl though, anything fruity and I’m there! Pina Coladas are my favourite but I’ll try out whatever the specialty is.
What’s the summer trend that will never go out of style?
Maxi dresses! They’re they easiest thing to wear you can just throw them on. Jersey days ones, dressy ones, I have loads.
What’s on your Summer playlist?
I’m still listening to Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. album –‘She Ain’t You’ is amazing, I love his music. I’ve got Emeli Sande’s album on repeat and also and ‘Higher’ by us!
