Kendrick Lamar stole the show with his epic performance at the 58th Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Monday night and everyone can’t stop talking about it!
He blew the roof off with his politically charged performance and unapologetically delivered a powerful message to the masses by using his music to tell a cathartic story of black identity.
Kendrick began the performance with “The Blacker The Berry”, walking on stage as part of a chain gang, after breaking free, he then dominated the stage as he transitioned to an African theme of “Alright”, in front of a huge bonfire, African drummers and tribal dancers.
The performance began to finish with a spotlight on him as he delivered every word as powerful as the next, ending with a beamed image above the stage of an African continent with the word “COMPTON” written inside.
Many celebrities took to twitter and expressed how brilliant his performance was.
Kendrick Lamar who was nominated for 11 awards that night won Best Rap Album (To Pimp a Butterfly), Best Rap Performance,(“Alright”) Best Rap Song (“Alright”) and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “These Walls”.
