In yet another race related issue that’s made media headlines (seriously, what’s going on?) popstar Jamelia has said that the police are racist towards her. In a Twitter rant, the Superstar singer claimed that she gets pulled over at least once a month and for the most trivial of reasons. She vented about the incident on the social networking site saying: “The amount of times I’ve been pulled over for nothing is ridiculous… racism is alive and kicking people.”
The star’s outrage is somewhat justified seeing as she supposedly wasn’t even driving at the time of her search. “I was not even driving, I was sat in my car parked up. When I asked them what their ‘reason’ was, they were stumped. They didn’t know I was Jamelia when they approached me, they just saw a black girl in an Adidas tracksuit and cap, in an expensive car.”
