Brooklyn rapper Jay-Z is understandably over the moon lately and posted an adorable track called ‘Glory’ in tribute to his and his wife Beyonce’s newborn daughter Blue Ivy Carter on his website Life and Times.
The extremely private couple who wed in 2008 in a discreet ceremony welcomed their new baby girl late last Saturday night.
In the song Jay opens up the couple’s tragic misfortune and reveals that prior to the birth of their daughter, Beyonce suffered a previous miscarriage: “last time the miscarriage was so tragic/ we was afraid you’d disappear/but nah baby you magic.”
The track was produced by prolific Neptune producer Pharrell Williams and features the collaborative efforts of one B.I.C (Blue Ivy Carter) who’s crying is sampled in the heartfelt track.
The revelation comes hot on the heels of the couple issuing a joint statement confirming what everybody already knows. The birth of their first child together, Blue Ivy Carter. Here’s what Jay and Bey had to say:
Hello Hello Baby Blue!
We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.
Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven.
She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives.
We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.
