HBO have released the new trailer for ‘Confirmation‘, starring the Scandal star Kerry Washington as Anita Hill. In addition to starring as Hill, Washington also produced the film.
The film is a political drama based on the 1991 events where Judge Clarence Thomas was accused of sexual abuse by his former colleague Anita Hill which she later testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Although Thomas denied it, he was then blocked from becoming appointed to the Supreme Court which he was nominated for by then President George Bush.
Washington allegedly said she was “terrified” to play Hill as it is a huge responsibility to play a character who is still alive.
Confirmation also stars Jennifer Hudson, Greg Kinnear, Jeffrey Wright, Eric Stonestreet, and Wendell Pierce as Clarence Thomas.
It is not confirmed whether the film will be released in the UK.
