Celebrities have paid tribute to model and actress Kim Porter, who was announced dead on Thursday (15th November) at age 47.
Kim had an on-and-off relationship with rapper and mogul Diddy from 1994 to 2007, and together they had three children: son Christian, 20, and 11-year-old twin daughters Jessie James and D’Lila – as well as Kim’s son, actor Quincy, from a previous relationship.
Despite having long ended their romantic connection, Kim and Diddy (real name Sean Combs) publicly had a very positive public friendship, with neither being shy to show public appreciation for the other on social media. Earlier this month, Kim posted a photo of Diddy to Instagram as part of a birthday message, writing: ‘on this day a GENIUS was born, may you continue to be the Driving Force of ENERGY that GOD created you to be!! Thank you for giving me the best gifts of life our CHILDREN!!’
News of her passing was confirmed by the LA County coroner on Thursday, who said she was pronounced dead at the scene after being ‘discovered unresponsive’ in her home. The cause of her death has not yet been determined.
While Diddy nor her close family have not yet commented publicly on the devastating news, plenty of friends and celebrities have paid tribute to her life, with Rihanna naming her loss ‘heavy’, and telling her fans: ‘We lost a real one today, beautiful inside and out… the whole world was graced by the vibrance in your spirit.’

Usher posted a message mourning the loss of his ‘big sister’, while Tyrese called her ‘the literally the sweetest and nicest person you could [have] ever known’.
Singer-songwriter Kandi Burruss posted: ‘Rest in peace @ladykp! I’m pryaing for your family right now. My heart goes out to @diddy & your beautiful children. This is unbelievable…’, and Nicki Minaj called the story: ‘The most heartbreaking news.’
