Fans of Weezy will be thrilled to know that the Louisiana rapper’s twice delayed and highly anticipated mixtape has finally been released, marking the fourth edition of his “Dedication” series. The rapper explained to Mixtape Daily that his day job of “killing beats” was getting a little boring, “Usually, I kill all the hot songs that are out, but I’m on all the hot songs that are out. So now I have nothing to kill.” Perhaps a sly “step your game up” message to other artists and producers?
Lil Wayne doesn’t seem fussed about making money at the moment, which might go some way to explaining why the latest mixtape is available for free download. “The reason why I’m recording mixtapes is because I’ve grown a whole fanbase that just loves Wayne mixtapes. Me being the generous dude I am, I have to cater to those people, so that’s why I do the mixtapes now.”
