I started Brides and Beauty because I noticed a gap in the market of some make up artists not having skincare knowledge and I wanted to offer brides the full package of skincare advice and make up for their wedding day. I also used my own personal experiences to find the right make up for all and any skin tone. I travelled to the US a lot which is why I got into the beauty business in the first place. They had more beauty ranges and products for sale than we had in the UK. Some of those brands are now available here, so we’re catching up in the UK. I have a real passion for ‘perfect’ skin. I had terrible skin as a teenager and wanted to find products that work. I’m always trying out new brands to keep my skin healthy. Only babies have perfect skin. We are exposed to environmental elements which can wreak havoc on the skins surface so changing my skincare routine with the seasons is important too. I follow all the big brands on social media to keep up with product launches that interest me. I worked really hard to crack this industry. In the beginning I worked seven days a week, I networked as much as possible and I’m constantly educating myself because you never stop learning in this business. Learn about skin, learn about ingredients and you’ll always be one step ahead. Research the companies whose products you have, and find out which other brands are part of their beauty group. Iman is my beauty industry inspiration. She’s taken her make up line from strength to strength in recent years. Her new make up line is available for all skin tones and is now in the UK. It was re-launched about three years ago and it’s really good.
