Wretch 32 recently took part in an exclusive studio session with 23 year old Osasu Oyemwimina from Edmonton who won a one-on-one recording session with the MC through the Barclaycard Unwind and Choice FM, Music Potential programme after beating hundreds of submissions for the session with Wretch 32.
Osasu, also known as Sasman, said: “I am ecstatic about today, it really has been a life changing experience. Out of the hundreds that submitted their tracks I was chosen. This really has confirmed for me that, yes I can produce, I am able to make music and all those voices that say ‘you can’t do it’ this is confirmation that I can. Working in the studio with Wretch 32 has been an amazing experience he was so humble, he gave me lots of advice from a musical perspective, he said the track could be played in the clubs which is where I really want it played. It’s been a great day”
Wretch 32, also hailing from North London said “Supporting Music Potential has been a great experience, from sitting on the panel and giving out advice to now being able to spend some quality time with an up and coming artist is amazing. When you are at this stage in your career, you need all the encouragement and support you can get and I hope that my involvement will inspire Osasu and others who want to have a career in music.”
Music Potential joined over 400 young people this summer at Wembley Arena for the Soundclash event which aimed to give 16-25 year olds the chance to learn sessions and speak with music industry professionals including Choice Breakfast’s Kojo & Max, N-Dubz Manager Rich Castillo and others.
