For the first time in the UK there will be a prestigious new award show for talented BAME personalities across Britain. The BEAM Awards, as it’s called will be broken up into several unique awarding categories such as: actor of the year, actress, musician, sports personality or even politician. The best part about the award is, the nominees are selected by you the people! BEAM Awards Founder Paul Sesay said: ‘If ever there was a time to celebrate and elevate the truly staggering diverse talent the UK has to offer, it is now. The BEAM Awards aims to bring communities together and highlight the phenomenal achievements of BAME icons nationwide. We have a fundamental passion to drive change and make a lasting and sustainable difference across the media industry and beyond.”
The event will be co-hosted by Sir Trevor McDonald and Alesha Dixon and is set to air on ITV, Wednesday the 12th of October! Nominations are now open until the 4th of September, please put your nominations here!
