ZIEZIE – PERSIAN
The wait is finally over! After teasing us with the track for nearly a year now ZieZie is back with his highly anticipated single Persian. With his debut record Fine Girl reaching 19 million views and his follow up Sensei getting 2.6 million views, ZieZie is gearing up his own summer now with this new release. The song is infused with a high-spirited tone and catchy vibe. The visuals for the song capture its fun mood and show ZieZie and a few ladies getting distracted from running a restaurant due to them vibing to the music in the kitchen.
PIP MILLETT – DO WELL (EP)
Rising UK R&B star Pip Millett has released the beautiful visuals that accompany her debut EP Do Well. Pip Millett rose to fame in 2017 thanks to her soulful additions on producer Joe Hertz’s R&B track Goodbye Kisses. Since then the Manchester-born singer has released her debut single Make Me Cry and now her EP Do Well. The EP has a very soulful and classic R&B feel to it and is accompanied by soft and meaningful visuals. The visuals highlight that it is currently exam season for many and the struggles that students face. In the first section Pip sits on the edge of a desk in an empty exam hall and performs Something Bout The Rain, the opening track of her EP. The singer also emphasises the importance of family as she and her sister do each other’s hair in another part of the visual. The visuals capture this sense of intimacy about Pip whilst perfectly incorporating her lyrics. This is definitely one for all R&B lovers.
KOFFEE – TOAST AND THRONE – MURA MASA REMIXES
Koffee has rapidly emerged as one of the greatest new artists in reggae with just a handful of songs. This 19-year old from Jamaica has just shared two new remixes from her critically acclaimed debut EP Rapture called Toast and Throne. 2019 has been a big year for Koffee with her performance of Rapture on COLORS already receiving over 4 million views and her single Toast already earning 45 million views on YouTube, shaping up to be the song of the summer in Jamaica. The singer is also set to perform at Glastonbury this weekend before performing in Denmark, Montreal, Brooklyn and a sold out show in New York. Her EP Rapture has also reached the number one spot on Billboard’s Reggae chart. Toast is full of classic dancehall vibes whilst Throne has more of a traditional reggae feel to it mixed with a modern twist. There has also been speculation that Koffee has had writing sessions with Rihanna for her upcoming album so watch this space!
ED SHEERAN FT. CHANCE THE RAPPER & PNB ROCK – CROSS ME
Last week Ed Sheeran released the music video for his previously released single Cross Me, which features Chance The Rapper and PnB Rock. This track is due to be included on his upcoming No.6 Collaborations Project, which was announced just last week. Cross Me features sounds very different to Sheeran’s usual music and this is also highlighted by Chance The Rapper’s and PnB Rock’s inputs into the song. The visuals for the song feature an animated woman in a motion capture suit who steps into the frame and breaks into dance, accompanied by animated versions of the three singers. Towards the end of the video the dancer is then brought into real life whilst experiencing brief glitches that interrupt her journey home after ending her studio session. The music video is very well created with cleverly crafted animations.
CARDI B – PRESS
On Wednesday (26th June), Cardi B released the shocking music video to her song Press. This video, full of sex and violence, comes just days after Cardi’s court appearance where she pleaded not guilty to assault. Her latest court appearance seems to have inspired the video, which has a similar theme however this time the rapper has been charged with murder. The video begins with a sexy ménage à trois scene that quickly turns violent when Cardi pulls out a handgun. The visuals then follow Cardi as she goes through the stages of the trial and the court process, before eventually being taken to prison where she drowns her cellmate in the toilet. Cardi B may not need any more press but she sure is going to get it after dropping this music video!
