Once again, Lupe Fiasco’s sounding off on politics and pushing the boundaries of freedom of speech to the absolute max. Not for the first time, the controversial rapper takes aim at US President Barack Obama.
In an interview on CBS News’ What’s Trending he said; “In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama. The root cause of the terrorism is the stuff that you as a government allow to happen and the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it’s easy for us because it’s really just some oil, which we can really get on our own.”
The rapper’s words will undoubtedly cause a stir and provoke some less than positive responses from Obama supporters. As someone who routinely speaks out about his disillusionment with the American government, it was all the more shocking to discover than Lupe elects NOT to use his vote: “I don’t get involved in the political process because it’s meaningless, to be honest. I’m a real big believer if I’m gonna vouch for someone, then I’m gonna stand behind everything that they do.”
What do you think? Does a person have the right to complain if they haven’t voted?
