The trailer for the long-awaited remake of 1982 classic Annie has finally hit the web.
The spirited clip, which sees youngest-ever Academy Award nominee and star of Beasts of the Southern Wild, Quvenzhané Wallis play the title role of loveable orphan Annie, is due out in December –just in time for the holidays.
While the original film had Daddy Warbucks as a billionaire business man, the remake casts Jamie Foxx as Benjamin Stacks, a filthy-rich, mayoral candidate who recruits Annie to help soften up his image. Cameron Diaz rounds out the A-list cast as the mean Miss Hannigan.
With Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment handling production duties and rapper Jay Z handling the musical side of things, we can’t wait to see this classic with a modern new twist.
