Five years on and Spike Lee is back with another documentary portraying the lives and impoverished living conditions of the residents of New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans being a predominantly black state was hit in damaging heights, leaving residents dead, and lives altered forever. In 2006, Lee produced and directed documentary ‘When the Levees Broke’ which was nominated for five Emmy awards, and won three. Now this sequel is as gripping and compelling as the first, using some of the characters from the first documentary as subjects to investigate whether their lives have been the same ever since. This four hour, two-part documentary is to be aired exclusively on HBO as did the first.
