Stevie Wonder’s “Definitive Collection” is now the #1 album on iTunes in the UK following the viral success of Stevie’s “carpool karaoke” appearance yesterday on James Corden’s Late Late Show.
The album had been outside the Top 200 prior to the clip going viral. ‘The Late Late show’ only airs in the US, however the UK pick up has come entirely through the constant sharing of the video online.
The pair were hilarious, and cute as they both sang some of Stevie Wonder’s famous hits in unison; including ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ and ‘Superstition’. Throughout the video there was much laughter between the pair, with Wonder trying to pull off the British accent and Corden’s entertaining dance moves.
During all the fun, there was a heartfelt moment as James became emotional at Stevie’s special version of ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’ dedicated to James and his wife Julia. The video received a staggering 2.5 million views on YouTube in just 24 hours, and was much deserved as it was a fantastic and loveable moment.
James Corden has done previous “carpool karaoke” sessions with the likes of Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Hudson. However, this one is definitely the best yet!
