Celebrity make up artist Joy Adenuga’s top tips on creating this hot look.
Step 1)
The classic smokey eye uses dark or metallic shades but this season it has been modernised with a colour injection. It’s a great look for Christmas, as the hues will not only make you stand out but will emphasis your brown eyes and gorgeous lips. Using either a variety of colours or various tones within the same colour family, the key is the right application.
Step 2)
Start with a creamy black base that sets like MAC’s Paint Pot in Blackground and apply over the lid, blending towards the crease and underneath the lower lashes. This base makes the colour stand out and adds longevity.
Step 3)
After choosing your colours start with the medium shade in the inner corner, followed by an intense shade in the middle and a darker shade on the outer corners and underneath the lashes for definition. Blend in between the shades to keep the look neat. Sleek Makeup has some amazing affordable colour palettes to suit this look.
Step 4)
Apply two to three coats of mascara or a strip of false lashes to intensify the look – Eylure have a great selection.
Step 5)
Finish off the look with a nude lip colour to focus attention on the eyes. Choose either a nude lipstick or a slick of shimmery gloss.
