The Smith family team up to take on human trafficking

Jada Pinkett Smith has publicly come out to make a stand against human trafficking. Flanked by movie star husband Will and popstar daughter Willow, she attended the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing and announced her plans to launch a campaign against human trafficking and slavery, after Willow brought the issue to her attention.

Her testimony urged Congress to do more to stop the atrocity happening in the United States and overseas. Willow supported her mother and the campaign, by tweeting a picture of her sitting at the judges’ seat in Capitol Hill, wearing a t-shirt reading ‘I Free Slaves.’The Smiths have previously campaigned for a variety of causes including Lupus and Aids charities, as well as orgnanisations for clean water provision in less developed countries. The family are also vocal supporters of Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign. It looks like Willow’s already following in her parents’ footsteps and using her celebrity to do good.
