Yesterday marked the 10 year anniversary of the death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, one third of popular R&B girl group TLC and rumours have been swirling that the late rapper/singer will be making a resurrection of sorts just in time for a 2012 TLC reunion tour.
Music fans the world over were captivated by the recent resurrection of another prolific star, rapper Tupac who appeared on stage at California music festival Coachella in the form of a hologram and it seems that the two remaining members of TLC –Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas –will follow suit by having a hologram of Left Eye accompanying them on stage during their much anticipated TLC reunion tour. The hologram craze, though embraced by many keen to relive old memories of their favorite stars, has left a bad taste in just as many mouths. Many have branded the moves tacky and disrespectful to the artists depicted. After Tupac’s successful showing at Coachella this year, there has even been talk of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson ‘going on tour’ with the rest of his brothers.
