19th Jan: Anti Diet Riot Fest (Colours, Hoxton)
It’s hardly an exaggeration to say that every January, we are bombarded with ads, editorials and seemingly innocuous small talk that reinforces the need to diet to start the year off right. And while there’s no harm in wanting to make some healthier life choices, it doesn’t mean that we have to punish ourselves to achieve some mysterious ideal – and now, there’s a whole event to counteract this whole ideology. Founded by Londoner Becky Young, the Anti Diet Riot Club is a collective that shuns diet culture – and what better time than January to throw their first festival.
