Wyclef Jean raised the hopes of many hip-hop fans claiming that seminal 90s hip-hop group the Fugees may be staging a comeback.
Rumours swirled last month after former members Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel appeared on stage together at the Rock The Bells concert leacing many to speculate over Wyclef’s whereabouts and whether he was standing in the way of them getting back together. The rapper cleared up the confusion saying: “It wasn’t really a reunion. I had a concert, but I got the offer to come. Pras was at the crib, so I said, ‘Pras, Lauryn wants me at Rock The Bells but I can’t make it. So don’t you think you should surprise her and pop up instead?’ So Pras shows up. And there’s two Fugees. Then they’re like, ‘where’s the third?’ But that’s what happened.”On the possibility of the trio hooking up again musically he said: “There’s an energy and a buzz about the Fugees that everyone likes. I think that it would be exciting to see that happen again. I don’t know if it would be another album – but maybe a song!”
How excited would you be to see the Fugees reform?
